UB40 Band Members to Start Rover Raffle at Birmingham Children's Hospital   7th January 2005

What better way to see in the New Year than coming along to the Lauch of 'Become a CityRover', where you have the chance to win a 'CityRover' car, worth £6,000? Plus the chance to meet some of the band members of UB40!

The launch is taking place on 10th January, from 10am until 12 noon at Birmingham Children's Hospital. Local celebrities will be attending, including Astro, Brian Travers and James Brown from UB40. The internationally renowned group are celebrating their 25th year in the music industry and are happy to lend their support to the Children's Hospital.

250 red balloons will be released into the sky across Birmingham to mark the beginning of the campaign and to symbolise the logo of the Diana, Princess of Wales Children's Hospital.

'Konk' the Clown will be on hand to entertain the children and it will be a fun morning out for the whole family.

MG Rover have generously donated the car to help Birmingham Children's Hospital raise £40,000 to support the exceptional work of the Hospital and will benefit the many thousands of sick, injured and troubled children that are treated every year. Tickets cost just £1 each and you are 3000 times more likely to win the car than the lottery , so it's got to be worth a go! With the campaign only running for nine weeks, the winner could be driving round in the CityRover by the end of March!

If you would like to sell tickets on behalf of Birmingham Children's Hospital or buy some tickets yourself, please contact the Fundraising department on 0121 333 8506.
